L.crispatus is the most common microbe in the healthy vagina and it is the main one of the four key bacteria in a healthy vagina. It produces a range of compounds that inhibit the growth of bad bacteria.

 L.crispatus is the most common microbe in the healthy vagina and it produces a range of compounds including lactic acid and hydrogen peroxide that inhibit the growth of the bad bacteria and yeast which cause bacterial vaginosis, thrush and urinary tract infections. There are many different strains of L.crispatus and not all of them are as effective as others. It is important that the best vaginal strain is chosen.
