Lactobacillus jensenii
Lactobacillus jensenii is a normal inhabitant of the lower reproductive tract in healthy women. L. jensenii makes up around a quarter of the vaginal microbiome in a healthy vagina. Lactobacillus jensenii produces a range of compounds which help support the healthy function of your vagina . Lactobacillus jensenii and our other Lactobacillus species produce hydrogen peroxide which has been associated with a decreased rate of bacterial vaginosis, gonorrhea- and HIV-acquisition and pelvic inflammatory disease. A stable colonization with these species is associated with a decreased rate of preterm birth too.
